Thoughts on "we" vs. "I"
I work on projects with teams - teams of designers, teams of product people, teams of engineers. Together, we create.
I was raised to be a person for others; therefore, "I" am often "we". I don't exist in a vacuum and referring to my work in the context of "we" doesn't make me less of a leader. Recognizing the value of "we", and my role in "we", makes me more of a leader. I do understand how others may interpret a "we" as presenting work "I" didn't create. I wouldn't present work that wasn't my own, but you don't know me enough to know that...yet. If this little mission statement tells you anything it's I can appropriately use the "I" personal pronoun but I prefer to be "we" person.
